Ephrata is ten minutes from our shop, which makes it home turf. From the borough streets near the Cloister to the townships along Route 322, we have measured a lot of bathrooms here.

The borough has a healthy stock of Victorian and early 1900s homes: high ceilings, real wood trim, plaster walls and staircases built when people were apparently narrower. Renovating these homes takes a lighter touch. We repair plaster instead of automatically gutting it, match old trim profiles, and update bathrooms and kitchens without making a 120 year old house look like an airport.

Out in the townships the work shifts to ranches and split levels: basement finishing, decks, window replacement and the occasional heroic rescue of a 1980s bathroom.
