The owners of this Elizabethtown home had one non negotiable each. She wanted a real soaking tub with jets. He wanted a shower he did not have to sidestep into. The room was just big enough to grant both wishes, if every inch behaved.

The corner jetted tub got a marble tile surround and pendant lights overhead, because a tub you use deserves better than a bare bulb. The shower went full height marble look tile with niches for the bottle collection every household denies having, behind a glass slider that makes the room read twice its size.
Jetted tubs need two things people forget: an access panel for the pump, which we built in flush and paintable, and a dedicated circuit, which our electrician ran during rough in rather than as a surprise later.
Layout advice for the tub plus shower dream
You need roughly 100 square feet to do both without squeezing. Under that, our honest advice is usually a great walk in shower and no tub, and we will say so even though the tub version costs more.
